Hello -- I am new to the "art" of cyber-communications, so please bear
with me. I typed in "music boxes" and scanned several sites; this one
seemed like one that might be able to give me an answer (if one exists)
to a simple question.

I have a very old music box (actually a wine decanter with the box in
the bottom). I have not done any serious research on it, mainly
because I didn't know where to start. All I would really like to know
is WHO TO ASK about it. Can you point me in the right direction to
such a source (site)?

Some time ago I wrote to an "advice" column in one of the homes
magazines that specializes in telling folks all about their old
furniture, pictures, object d'art, etc., and sent along a picture and
a sketch of the only identification on the box (a manufacturers symbol
as I perceive it to be). No answer. No local music box suppliers give
me any suggestions either.

Tonight my wife and I were shopping for Christmas presents at the mall,
and we passed by the Music Box store there, and I finally put two and
two together, and thought that maybe somewhere in cyberland the answer
lies.

Well, enough rambling; would appreciate any guidance. Thanks for
reading.
