Fumigate the Piano
By Dan Armstrong

Hi all, I'm totally in agreement with Hal Davis' fumigation of a
piano brought in. I had one come in with live moth larvae in the
hammer felts. They subsequently hatched and infested my shop where I
spent a week getting rid of them before they could do damage to any of
the other pianos or actions there.

What finally finished them off was putting an open box of moth balls
on a shelf in my shop. They were drawn to it and died. No more pianos
come in the shop without being thoroughly inspected and fumigated.
