Aeolian 176-note Roll Recutting Project
By Richard Vance

Expanding on Mr. Klinger's posting yesterday morning, seeking Aeolian
Organ rolls; I have a question that has been nagging me for years. One
hears rumors and vague hints about this, but no firm answer has been
forthcoming as far as I know.

Is there, anywhere in the world, a real twelve-to-the-inch music roll
perforator, which might be used to recut organ rolls???

If not, is there anybody working on a project to make or refurbish
one???

Some years ago, a project was launched to make such a thing, for
recutting Aeolian 176-note rolls. The organizers took deposits from
collectors to capitalize the project, but nothing has been heard from
them for years.

I hope that the combined resources of the vast MMD community can come
up with a definitive answer for the frustrated 'Orchestrel' and
'Residence Organ' people like Mr. Klinger and me.
