Music Roll Paper
By Rob DeLand

I was once told that the best waxed paper used for rolls today is
intended for use by the restaurant industry, to be cut up into little
2" squares and placed on the top of pats of butter!

Also, I once visited with a fellow who was involved with the Austin
Organ Co. and their huge Austin Quadruplex rolls (21" wide) who said
experiments were done in the 1960's or 70's using Mylar instead of
plastic. The results were less than stellar because the Mylar was
difficult to perforate, and the static electricity generated as a
result made the chaff from the perforating process stick to the
finished roll! They went back to good old waxed paper.
