More on my Paillard with 31 Cylinders
By Larry Greenfield

Each cylinder is 14-1/2" long and about 2-1/4" wide; there are 8 nickel
plated cylinders and the rest are brass. There is a tune indicator --
six tunes per cylinder -- and a tune changer! The sound is quite
strong with very little damper noise.

It is a sublime harmonie, with each comb having 51 teeth. There are
two very large spring barrels with each barrel 3-3/4" wide and 4-5/8"
wide; there is no reduction gear. The barrels drive the cylinder
directly without a reduction gear. My wood man, Ricky Diggs, will be
fixing the inside glass lid which is bit loose (the glass is loose),
and he'll be making four more pair of cylinder supports for the bureau,
which can store up to 60 cylinders.

Also, David Burke, MBSI member from Virginia, has offered to try to
identify the tunes if the I record the tunes on tape on send to him,
which I will do!

Regards
Larry Greenfield
