Mustel Restoration Information
By Tom Gregory

Greetings:

I had the opportunity to see the Mustel Harmonium/w/player mechanism
which I will become the proud owner within a few months.

Has anyone had the opportunity to restore this player mechanism?
Although I did not see the player mechanism (it was stored elsewhere) I
am assuming that it plays a 61 notes. Player mechanism works under
vacuum, harmonium works by pressure! The instrument has approximately
75 - 100 rolls, many classical.

This instrument is able to be pumped to supply pressure to the harmonium
or an electric blower (self-contained) can be used. The player mechanism
requires the use of an additional unit which sits beside the harmonium to
supply vacuum.

I have received several notes from an earlier post, one from a very
knowledgeable gentleman in England, several from the U.S., including an
officer in the ROS and a gentlemen from Washington, D.C. As I gather
more details I will forward them to the list.

Sincerely,

Tom Gregory
