Thorens Music Box from Child's Pedal Car
By Hauke Marxsen

Hi Andrew, Your message in the 22 March 98 MMD:

> I have a old Thorens music piece, from a 1939 child's pedal car. It

You should look for a comb which harmonized to the cylinder. Often
small movements have a comb which is tuned for a special melody.
A same size movement with an other melody may have a different comb.

> The whole piece is 2-1/16" x 1-13/16" (cylinder length 1").

That's the size of a normal 18-teeth Thorens movement.

> The platform model number is 126417 (the number on the back side).

The number says nothing to me.

> I also found a number on the cylinder (2867) ...

That's the melody number; I couldn't find the number in my documents.
In your case I would forget that movement; look for another movement.

Regards
Hauke
