Found Inside a Piano
By Bill Chapman

My buddy Ward Folsom, another AMICA member, and I were looking at
English pianos in Portland, Oregon. I happened to open an upright and
and noticed a faded letter in the case. Naturally I had to unfold it
to check out the date. It was 1943, and as I read it aloud my friend
thought I was making it up.

It was a detailed account by a young soldier who had attended a party
and ended up in a more than romantic encounter. It must be described
as XXX rated, all 4 pages. We saved it, but its not right to post it.
This young soldier was quite imaginative in his ministrations.

I also found a 1880 coin from India, in perfect condition in a piano I
rebuilt. But perhaps the most interesting thing was some "Spiel Munze"
some coins Germany. The writing on it was so small we had to get a
lens to read it.
