Fixing Water Spots on Wood Finish

I have a nice cylinder box with a typical finish (probably not French
Polish).  My wife spilled a few drops of water on it which went
un-noticed.  A few white spots have appeared.  Does anyone have some
suggestions as to how to get rid of these spots?
