Dear Robbie,  Now that you are asking for it:  John A. Tuttle is right.
He, and I, believe in a free flow of information.  I do have to accept
the rules of the house, otherwise I must leave the MMD-community.

But the rules may need a change: if believing in a free flow of
information (which I do), everybody is free to use my contributions to
the MMD without permission (unless otherwise stated).

If somebody does not want to be cited, he or she must not write for the
MMD, or state that the text may not be used without prior permission.

Why not test it: ask a vote from the MMD-members about what they see
as the best solution: free use of articles, under the protection of a
disclaimer, or no use of articles at all without prior agreement from
both the author and the MMD-publisher.

 [ I'm pleased that several people have written to say that they
 [ don't care how their posts are used.  I'm not ready to change the
 [ boilerplate of the MMD to say "Anything you say here can be reused
 [ freely by anyone".  I'm afraid that to do so would discourage some
