Plans for Brusker Organ from Jim Smith
By Allen Zagel

Greetings All. I had planned to properly introduce myself to the
group but have been extremely busy remodeling a bathroom. I promise
that I will. However an article and 1 reply prompted me to send this.

With regard to the request for plans. I have just read the reply by
John Kleinbauer. I would like to add to this. By the way, I have
purchased John's book an I can vouch that it's a real good book.

The fellow in England who has plans for a 'Brusker' organ is

  Jim Smith
  55 Willow Way
  Flitwick, Bedfordshire
  MK45 1LN
  UK
  Tele +01525-712496

His wife, Mrs. J. Smith, is handling the bookwork. I have telephoned
them as they recently went back to the "stone age" with no computer.
They hope to be back on-line soon with at least email.

The plans sell for =L= 41 (that's British pounds) postpaid. This came
out to a little over US$ 61. This includes the book and a NTSC video
that will play here in the USA. I have paid for the set and received
it in good shape. They're good plans and the video, while I've only
seen part of it so far, seems a big help in building the organ.

Would you believe the pipes are made of balsa wood? Yup! The organ is
paper roll operated and a test roll comes with the plans, including how
to punch for more music. 1 or 2 songs are included.

I have an article they sent me that's a reprint from an 1996 British
Organ Grinders' Association news letter with a short personal letter
on the back. I'm sure John wouldn't mind if I made some copies if
anyone's interested. I'll telephone them tomorrow and ask.

While I have to finish my remodeling project, I do plan to build both
organs. I will say though that I have received both books as promised.
