Cleaning vs. Replacing Pouch Leather
By Albert de Boer

Hi you Experts, My sincere thanks to those who responded on the MMD,
as well as those who send me e-mailings, in response to my question on
how to clean old pouch leather. Almost unanimously it was suggested
that I have my head examined if I did not replace these pouches rather
than just cleaning the surface and then reseal.

Well, may be you were a bit more diplomatic about it, but I felt
your strong vibrations ! So, being a bit stubborn (the Dutchmen among
you will say that to be typical of Frisians), I removed only one to
check you out, and surely you were right ! The leather tore like
cheap brittle tissue paper, which is what you called "rotten leather",
right ! So, off they go!

All kidding aside, thanks again for keeping me from making a costly,
time consuming mistake. This MMD is a great place !!
