Emergency Repairs for Pouches
By Lee Roan

Hi All. Don't know if there is any interest, but all this discussion
lately on pouches has sparked my memory of an emergency player piano
repair I did about 3 years ago.

A friend was planning a party for the next day and wanted to use her
player for entertainment, and she discovered at the last minute that
it wouldn't play.

I found several badly decayed pouches in some of the function boxes
(play, auto-rewind, etc.) under the keyboard (fortunately the stack
pouches were OK). I made a quick trip to the local drug store for
some thin latex rubber gloves, cut circles out of them and glued 'em
in. They lasted over a year and, of course, got her through her party.

Best Regards

Lee Roan
