My good friend, Stephen Goodman let me know what he thought about my
blarney about rag coding! Sorry, Stephen, I was really just remarking
from my own experience with certain reproducing rolls I own as to how
they must have been coded! I'm still waiting for some good ones!

On the other hand, I heard Dick Hyman play Heliotrope rag at Charlotte,
and about went through the floor! That guy is an absolute virtuoso.
The thing that really amazed me was the perfect coloration of phrase
with his absolutely flawless pedal foot! All I can say is, after
hearing him-- we have a long, LONG way to go as far as rags on rolls
are concerned. We ain't done nothin' yet!
