Need Help Making a Music Box

Kory, I have been corresponding with a fellow by the name of
An Thomas Tran at UCLA who wanted to make a custom tune music
box for a friend of his. We discussed a number of ideas and
he finally (successfully!) managed to get one built. I've been
gently reminding him every month or so to please write up his
work for this list (and I've copied him on this missive as my
latest reminder).

Basically, he used an existing 18-note movement and replaced
the cylinder - these movements are available very cheaply (50
cents apiece in volume). The cylinder is removed, the bumpy
pin sheet is removed, and a new cylinder formed with polymer
clay. Music wire is used to make pins in the cylinder, and
the whole thing baked, and then reinserted. Thomas's effort,
the "foreverbox" playing as a WAV file, is attached.

[ I've placed the attached file on the MMD Website as:
 [
 [ http://mmd.foxtail.com/Sounds/foreverbox_22khz.wav
 [
[ It's quite large (about 400k) so be warned. If there's
[ an interest, I could convert it to RealAudio. -- Jody
