Music Box by Samuel Troll, Geneva
By Larry Greenfield

Troll made good boxes, and because it is an interchangeable, that
means it is from about 1885 and later.

To me, ten tunes per cylinder is a lot: I try to have only about six
tunes per cylinder. The fewer the tunes per cylinder the more music
per tune. Where are the extra cylinders --in a drawer at the base of
the music box? Also, how long are the cylinders?

Troll made very good orchestra boxes. As far as value, check with
any number of people on MMD, including Reg Smith, Marty Roenigk, and
Bill Wineburgh. Also, ask Nancy Fratti at <musicbox@sover.net>.

Happy New Year

Larry Greenfield
