When I arrived back at work yesterday after the Christmas break I found
a thread had developed about Mattel's musical box toys that are opera-
ted by a wide rubber band with tabs on it.

We still have a Mattel Jack-In-The-Box at home purchased in the '60s,
when my kids were small.  It plays, "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little
Dog Gone?" and at the end of the tune the lid flies open and out pops
Snoopy.

It still works fairly well, but Snoopy is looking a bit moth-eaten and
his ears have almost frayed away.  My grandchildren get it out now and
then and give it a hard time.
