I have just arrived home from the New Year's reception of the Utrecht
museum and I spoke to Dick Van Minnen there.  He does most of the
restoring work on metal parts and mechanics of the instruments and
he already told me that you would forward his mail, so that closed
the circle, I think.

Dick will send you a mail tomorrow, I presume.  He has, however,
already pointed out to me what he needs.  In all paper-roll playing
instruments it is essential that the playing spool, the tracker bar,
and the take-up spool are exactly in line, to assure a proper motion
of the paper.

In some museum instruments there seem to be problems with that,
so he is looking for a tool to measure the alignment of the spools
and tracker-bar.  They don't seem to be available here in Europe.
I cannot help him, so I hope some clever MMD'er can!
