Mechanical Organs by Davrainville
By Francoise Dussour

Davrainville was a very good organbuilder in France. He worked in
Paris, but his family came from the neighbourhoods of Mirecourt, the
cradle of the little "serinette". Not many organs from Davrainville
are today in the museums or in private collections. You can find some
instruments in :

1/ Cite de la Musique 221, Ave. Jean Jaures 75019 Paris. They have
some little organs and one or two from Davrainville.

2/ CNAM 292, rue St. Martin 75019 PARIS ( http://www.cnam.fr ). I have
seen, inside, a movement from Davrainville with 16 keys and six tunes
on the barrel.

3/ in the Jen Carlson's collection (Am Plan 2, D-38154 Koenigslutter,
Tel/Fax 05353.4005) is a very nice organ and I think it is a
Davrainville.

You must write to have the dates and the numbers of each instrument.
Good luck and best regards from France
