HI All,  Talk about your nightmares.  I'm just starting a job on an old
Wurlitzer electric player from the 70's.  When the solenoids started
clacking and then became very sluggish, the customer sprayed them with
WD-40.  What a mess.

The real problem is corrosion on the plungers, coupled with a stack and
action that have _never_ been regulated since the piano was purchased.
Cleaning the plungers and inside the solenoids is a piece of cake on
the lower tier.  The upper tier is a different story.

Also, I can't find any adjustments for changing the position of the
stack.  It appears to be mounted to the same piece of wood as the piano
action bracket posts, so changing the position of the stack would also
move the action  - totally unsatisfactory.  The only other option I see
is gluing a thin regulating punching to each solenoid button.

By the way, this action is the one where the plungers are regulated by
a collar with a set screw, as opposed to the type with the spring-loaded
clip.

Has anyone ever run into this problem before?  Any suggestions?
