Seeburg "L" Questions
By Howard Kohlbrenner

Greetings everyone,

I would like to present a few questions to the group regarding the
cabinet model Seeburg "L" I purchased my "L" several years ago and
have just recently found time to do a little work on it.

I found that someone had installed a 3" motor pulley and adjusted the
rubber tired drive pulley in to the center of the pump drive pulley
as far as it can be moved. Believing that the pulley was to large in
diameter I changed it to a 2" pulley. Upon doing so I found that the
piano played very weakly due to the vacuum not being sufficient. What
is the correct size motor pulley?

Regarding the mandolin rail, should it have a stop to limit its upper
movement? At present when it is not in play its upper movement is
limited by the mandolin pneumatic. This places a constant stretching
force on the pneumatic cloth which does not seem correct to me.

In a reverse of the above the soft pedal pneumatic compresses
completely putting an intense creasing force on the pneumatic cloth
covering it. Is this correct or is there a stop of some kind missing?

Than you for your help,
Howard Kohlbrenner
