Shipping Valuables

Responding to Larry Greenfield's comment about Mail Boxes Etc.
Yes, every time I've shipped a musical box I did so with deep
apprehension due to the possibility of potential damage.  Sometimes
it seems that the process is based upon a roll of the dice if the box
is going to arrive intact or not, regardless of the chosen carrier.

I have been fortunate to never having a piece damaged in shipment
(knock on wood) by shipping via UPS 3 Day Select (air).  I can't
vouch for Mail Boxes USA because I've not used them.

By the way, I've heard good things about Federal Express.  Obviously,
it is best if one can arrange to deliver/pickup an article of value in
person vs. common carrier for careful treatment of the piece.
