Within about a week I should have my Duo-Art popular e-roll CD
finished.  Then everyone can judge for themselves the performances
of Armbruster and others even if they do not own a reproducing piano.

It is best to listen to the rolls with a genuine Duo-Art connected to
a PowerRoll, although a reasonable simulation can be had with WindPlay
and an electronically controlled piano such as a Disklavier, or even
with a good sound card.

I have a SoundBlaster Live card installed in a relatively fast computer
and have the sound fonts by Warren Trachtman.  I use the setup to listen
for wrong notes in scanned rolls caused by paper tears, etc.  Although
it does not sound like a piano to someone who has a good piano to
compare it to, it can be quite acceptable.

Besides, the regulation is better than all but the most carefully
rebuilt and maintained Duo-Arts.

 [ I continue to enjoy Wayne Stahnke's CD of the Rachmaninoff Ampico
 [ rolls.  I realize that my ordinary Ampico piano won't have the
 [ dynamic range of the Boesendorfer concert grand piano and SE system,
 [ but I still hope that someday it might produce the marvelous dynamic
 [ subtleties which I hear from the CD.  The commands exist in the
 [ music roll; somehow I must make the pneumatic machine respond.
