Scrapping a Player Piano
By Damon Atchison

There is a free Beckwith player piano offered to me if I move it out of
this woman's basement. The player system is the same as mine and I can
very much use those parts, because my parts are in rough shape.

The case has been "antiqued" and the piano is pretty torn up. After
removing the player system, remaining keytops (some with ivory still on
them) and a few parts on the case, I'm left with an old piano action,
strings, and a plate. I've been told I can't trade that bass bridge
for mine, which is split.

Is the plate good for anything, or should I just dump it with the rest?
I cannot put this in my garage.
