Hi,  I would like to add my two cents worth on the roll seals.
I vote that you keep the seals intact.  They do make a great
conversation piece.

Granted you don't get to hear the music unless you have another copy,
but you do have a unique piece of history from the early days.  I don't
really know if that would make them more valuable or not.  But when you
look at other items either antique or not antique, you do find that
those with original boxes, and seals do have a greater market value.

I have three Ampico rolls in my collection and plan to keep them
intact.  I have sold a number of them in my roll auctions over the
years.  By the way, my latest roll auction is on my web site for those
that have not discovered it.  I did have a few sealed Ampico rolls from
the Tushinsky collection a few auctions ago, but I did note that the
seals had been disturbed and that the rolls had been played and the
seals put back on.

I have never seen any seals on Duo Art rolls and wonder if any other
collectors have any in their collections?  Like Frank Adams of AMR,
I copied an original Ampico seal and I put them on all rolls that I do
put in my auction.  Principally I think it adds a bit of class to the
roll, plus I hate using rubber band with a passion, for all the damage
they do to rolls and the boxes.
