Perhaps I tend to look at life through rose-tinted spectacles at times
-- I know that I prefer optimism to pessimism -- but is this _really_
the future?  You sound more than a little jaundiced, Tom.

Sure, there are a breed of youngsters that like to ridicule our simple
pleasures, but then most new generations instinctively question the
values of their elders.  Only life teaches, then, that perhaps Mom and
Dad actually knew something after all.  So the average age of MMDers
is around 53.  That's not old.  There is hope yet.  

I get around quite a lot with my pianola in the UK and I can say that:

a) Yes, there are the boorish minority who will ridicule anything that
implies creativity or tradition (young and old);

b) There are a lot of sensible young folk out there that take a genuine
interest in the instruments and their music.

I know that because I sell pianolas to families with such children.
It's not all gloom and doom.
