I need to buy an Ampico A electrical ac motor in any restorable/
rewindable condition. One in good working condition will do as well
of course.  Will gladly pay the going price.  Any information regarding
suitable "modern" motors would also be appreciated.  Your responses
will be greatly appreciated.

 [ A 6-pole induction motor (1075 to 1150 rpm at 60 Hz) rated for
 [ continuous fan or blower service would be an appropriate modern
 [ substitute.  Use the familiar axial mounting with a big rubber
 [ grommet at each end of the case.  To reduce the motor hum, install
 [ a 24-volt bucking transformer to lower the mains voltage to 90 or
 [ 100 vac.  A fan motor rated for 1/4 horsepower should be okay.
