Old Songs - Center for Popular Music
By Richard Vance

There is an easy way to find out about old songs that we often
encounter on music rolls. As always, the Center for Popular Music
(a research facility housed at Middle Tennessee State University),
with the largest collection of sheet music I have ever encountered,
came up with the answers. Click here to get their superb search engine:

     http://popmusic.mtsu.edu/musicbrf.htm

This quickly yielded the following results.

[ The home page of Center of Popular Music should also be at
[ http://www.mtsu.edu/~ctrpopmu/ but my Internet server
[ couldn't locate it. I hope the outage is temporary.
[ I did find a closely replated page at
 [ http://www.mtsu.edu/~ctrpopmu/service.html
[ A list of public sheet music collections, compiled by the
[ Music Library Association, is given at
 [ http://www.lib.duke.edu/music/sheetmusic/collections.html
