Texas Pronunciation of "Antheil"
By Bryan Cather

I couldn't resist... While Germans may say "Ahnt-Heil", and those in
New Jersey would probably say "An-Teel", I'm afraid many folks here in
Texas would come closer to saying "Anthill", as in those piles of dirt
in your yard

For that matter, my church choir often sings Farrant's Baroque
masterpiece "Lord, For Thy Tender Mercy's Sake". One edition has
Farrant's name in big letters on the front:

  "FARR
   ANT"

which we determined to be the West Texas pronunciation of "Fire Ant".
Thus it has become "The Fire Ant Piece"

With as straight a face as I can muster, I'm...
