I recently came across a Reprotone action by Story and Clark.
This got me thinking about "expression pianos" which are not the
"reproducing pianos" such as Welte, Ampico, and Duo-Art.

I've seen rolls that said "Expressing" and "Reproducing", which
were coded like a Recordo with long marginal perforations.  One roll
was from Playtona.

Are these "expression pianos" made to play Recordo rolls?   What is
the definition of an "expression piano"?  Was the Seeburg Expression
Piano built to play these rolls?
