Lutefisk
By Jim Hendershot

Hello to all, and my best greetings for this holiday season!

My wife, being Danish (Really -- Born in Copenhagen!) has some
familiarity with the Norwegian custom of eating lutefisk. It appears
the Danes have no great love for the stuff either, and have a story
attached to it's use.

It seems that two Danish farmers were talking over the fence one day.
Axel says to his buddy Oluf that he has a skunk under his house.
Oluf, of course, being on the ball, has the answer:

"It's easy to get rid of a skunk. Just toss a big hunk of lutefisk
under there, and it'll drive him right out."

About a week later, Oluf sees Axel again. "How did it go with
  the skunk?"

"Oh! Well, the lutefisk drove the skunk out, all right, but now
I have a bunch of Norwegians under my house."

Hmmm...!

Merry Christmas, and have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Best Regards,
Jim Hendershot
