Seek Bottle of "Garfield Pin Block Restorer"
By Bill Garfield, forwarded

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

I wonder if you can help me. I am the grandson of William M. Garfield,
who was the inventor of a product known as "Garfield Pin Block Restorer"
which was marketed under that name for around 60 years, more or less.
(Perhaps it still is).

Some 40 years ago, in a terribly weak moment, perhaps during a lapse of
her fading faculties, my widowed mother allowed herself to get talked
into selling the patent and all the rights thereto to a piano equipment
supply house located somewhere in northern Illinois or Indiana; I think
somewhere up around Chicago. The name I recall hearing might have been
something like "Schaff Piano Equipment" or similar, but I'm so far
unable to find any info.

What I'm actually trying to find is one of the original bottles of my
grandfather's product (full or empty) with the original label. Full
and unopened would of course be much preferred, but I'd take whatever
I can get. My interest is purely nostalgic.

If you're into pianos and refurbishing them, I'm sure you've heard of
the stuff. Not much to it -- primarily denatured alcohol and glycerin
and a little 'Rit' laundry dye for color -- but the stuff sure would
make wood swell.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
