Magnetophone at Pavek Museum of Broadcasting
By John Lanphere

I have been following with great interest the thread about Welte, Jack
Mullen and the Magnetophones. In a recent posting Richard Simonton
asks, "Where are those machines now?"

Well, we know where one of the Magnetophones is residing: at the Pavek
Museum of Broadcasting in St. Louis Park, Minnesota just outside of
Minneapolis. They have most all of the Jack Mullen collection docu-
menting 125 years of audio recording. They also have an Ampex model
200A, serial number 66, as part of that collection. Both machines are
on display and can actually be played.

Visit the museum web site at http://www.pavekmuseum.org

Regards from Minneapolis.
