Playola Oversize Pin End Music Rolls
By Dan Wilson, London

Should you come across a 65-note roll with oversize pins which won't
fit standard 65-note players, these were made by Playola in England to
try and corner the market in rolls for their own upright player, made
around 1908-12.

The other companies plainly thought this was a self-defeating stratagem
as the public prefer a common standard -- which by then was 88-note
anyway.
