MMD Archives on CD-ROM
By Larry Smith

Jacques Thijs wrote, "I would buy one too if I could read it on
a Macintosh computer", and Jody remarked:

It isn't hard to do, provided you stick to cross-platform standards.
Fortunately, as a web publication, MMD is already cross-platform, we
need only avoid any dumb move that would lock in Windows. Many places
_have_ made such errors by farming the work out to contractors with no
cross-platform experience -- but I expect Jody will not make such a
mistake.

(Although "UNIX" is now a trademark and is owned and awarded by a
corporation, BSD is one of the defining products of Unix's early
history, and as such, has the moral, if not strictly legal, right to
_be_ called "UNIX", not a "clone", even though none of the AT&T code
is left in it.)

Larry Smith
