Musee Baud in L'Auberson, Switzerland
By Donald S. Sammis

Many years ago I took a decrepit music box to a small repair shop
in Switzerland, where it was partially restored but not completely.
I retrieved it before they rebuilt the comb. This was in the 1960's
as I recall. Connected with the shop was a lovely little museum of
"Automats", as they were called.

This place was northwest of Geneva and south of Zurich. I can't
remember the name of the town nor the shop. I think the shop had
the word "Baud" in it. Any help from your end?

[ is a nice article (in German) by Rita Henss, who tells about the
[ music box industry in the Ste.-Croix region of the Swiss Jura:
 [
[ "Traditional music box production is illustrated at the Musee Baud,
[ established in 1955 by Frederique 'Fredy' Baud and his two younger
 [ brothers, August and Robert."
