Hi Everyone,  Working in the semiconductor industry, I just couldn't
stand the thread going on about "silicon" sealant.  Silicon is a hard,
brittle semi-metallic element that we use for making computer chips.
Its atomic symbol is Si and the atomic number is 14.  Its melting point
is over 1400 degrees C.

Silicone [with 'e'] refers to a family of polymers of the form X2SiO,
where X is an organic group.  The polymers are used as adhesives,
lubricants, and synthetic rubbers.

Silicon Valley refers to the San Jose, California, area.  There is no
place I know of called "Silicone Valley".
