Cleaning Old Lacquer Finish
By Jon Page

Re: Schaff "Lacquer Leveler" & Mohawk "Amalgamator"

For cleaning and rejuvenating old finishes I used a concoction of equal
parts of boiled linseed oil, denatured alcohol, turpentine and white
vinegar. It does very well in livening up the old finish but does not
soften it to the degree of 'leveling' it.

I mix it by the gallon, by pouring a quart of each into an empty gallon
bottle. Lasts a long time.
