I'm about to join the ranks of Duo-Art grand owners and need some sage
advice.  Art Reblitz recommends removing the spoolbox and all the upper
action parts (air motor etc) behind the fallboard before tipping a
Duo-Art Grand for restoration.  Is this also advisable before shipping
a restored instrument?  I'm having a mover recommended by MMD readers
do the move for me (Brookes Piano Service, Sacramento). They won't be
removing any player action parts before moving it.

The piano is 7 hours drive from my home.  I'm familiar with upright
Duo-Art actions but have never worked on a grand.  Is it worth my doing
any prep work before the movers arrive?  I don't want to annoy the
seller too much by spending hours in his home partially gutting the
instrument if it's of limited benefit.  Should I simply trust the mover
to do the job?  I removed the stack from my upright every time I moved
it.  It was an easy job.

Is removing the upper action from a grand a lengthy process?  Will I
have to worry about reconnecting all the tracker bar tubes individually
if I remove the spoolbox?

Am I acting too much like an expectant mother?  :-)
