The main difference between the two is the CD capability which allows
a CD player to be connected in order to play the CD software.  This
permits many hours of continuos play and also the option of the CD live
performance accompaniment discs.

PianoDisc has a special CD player that mounts under the keybed with
the main control box, but a less-known little secret is that most any
CD player will work with the proper connectors.  As far as I know the
soundcard socket is the same.

PianoDisc has issued two soundcards for the 128 and the 128+ series.
The early card featured the Emu chip set.  The later cards have the
Alesis chip set which sounds better.  If you have an older box I highly
recommend you have the latest flash ROM operating system update which
can greatly enhance the expression abilities.  The last version is 4.0.

The 128+ box will probably be phased out soon.  A new box that combines
the CD and the floppy drive all in one unit is about to be released.
The dealer who I install systems for will be the first in the country
to have the new box and we now have four in inventory.  I just returned
from the NAMM show and saw one installed.
