Cremona Style J Orchestrion Found
By Don Teach

I stumbled onto a Cremona style J this past week. This was the biggest
model in the Cremona line. The art glass is some of the prettiest I
have ever seen in a coin piano. The bad news is that there is not one
player part left in this beautiful case.

What would you do if you had this piano? I know of nobody with Cremona
parts for sale. I could make most of the missing parts, as I have made
pipe chests and stacks for Cremona pianos. Where would I find a pump
and spool frame?

I have several Cremona gutted pianos now with no parts. Should I make
the patterns and have all the parts cast? If I went to this much
trouble, would anyone else need any Cremona castings? Should I sell
the piano as is? What is your opinion?

P.S.: By the way, moving the Cremona was the worst move in the history
of moving pianos. The house had been built around this piano!
