Ever since I joined MMD I have not paid a penny piece for the
privilege, not that I am a freeloader by nature, but because of my
reluctance to put my credit card details into cyberspace (I live in
England).  Quite frequently scare stories are published in the
newspapers about dreadful things happening to the credit accounts of
people who do so.

As has already been pointed out by others, the cost of sending money
from the UK to a foreign country, particularly a relatively small
amount such as $30, does not make economic sense.  If somebody comes
up with an acceptable solution then I shall be more than happy to
contribute.
