Sustain Pedal Linkage for Push-up Player
By Rob Buckingham

Hi All, I am restoring an Aeolian push-up player (circa 1902, with
rosewood tracker bar) and am in need of the portion of the sustain
pedal linkage that is responsible for pushing on the piano pedal.
I am tempted to call this the "foot".

A picture of the unit is found in Bower's encyclopedia on page 258.
The back side of the player is not shown (which is where the part
I am seeking resides). However, I suspect most people are familiar
with this machine. If you have one (the foot, not the machine) that
you would like to trade or sell, I would be very much appreciative.

By the way, the best glossy black finish (in my humble opinion) comes
from spraying a mixture of clear shellac and black aniline dye. Spend
three months sanding and buffing it 15 or 20 times and you will have
a very nice looking finish. Paul Manganaro recommended this to me and
I am very grateful for the good advice.

Have a great day,
Rob Buckingham
