Phoning in a small order this morning to Player Piano Company (PPCo),
I was surprised not to hear the familiar voice of Jack Johnson,
Durrell Armstrong's order-taker who is a model of brusque but extremely
competent and usually cheerful efficiency.  I asked the woman who took
my order the reason for the personnel change and was told that Jack was
in the hospital but was expected to be released today.
