In response to David Krall's request for a small variable speed
electric motor to power a spoolbox roll inspector.  I've used a
110- volt sewing machine motor controlled by a kid's science project
motor speed controller with a Standard spoolbox.  A cheap solution.
Mine's been working nicely for about 25 years.
