I had no success at finding Richard Stibbons' roll scanner group on
Yahoo using its group-search engine [010408 MMDigest].  Richard gave
me this shortcut, which worked fine, and I pass it along in his own
words for anyone else who had the same difficulty as I did.

  "Yahoo seem to have a problem with the group search facility.
It's difficult for me to find a way round this because it knows
I'm a member and takes short cuts for me.  However, try going to

   http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Rollscanners/

  "I think you'll find that takes you straight to our home page,
from which you can join up.  The group's getting interesting.
Hope you come aboard."
