Sujet: Musical Clock Playing Schubert In Vienna
Date: Fri, 20 Apr 2001 04:51:52 -0400

In the times of Franz Schubert, ca. 1820, there was a mechanical music
clock which played popular Schubert tunes such as "Schaffers Klage"
and "Heiden Roslein". It was located on the Seilergasse in Vienna,
Austria, at an inn called the Hungarisches Krone. The inn was torn
down and this instrument disappeared.

Has anyone tried to find if it still exists and, if so, its present
location?

Best wishes,

Joseph Lawton
