Program to List & Display MIDI File Data
By Julie Porter

Keith Thompson asked about programs to display MIDI note numbers.

Mickey Sadler wrote in 981120 MMDigest about the ABC2PS music
notation system. There is a tool that comes with this called
mftext.exe which will dump a MIDI file to a human readable text
file. The Macintosh MidiGraphy also generates a similar "event"
list. MidiGraphy is available on most Mac shareware pages; Google
gives http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MIDIGraphy/

I think a few here have also written some Cakewalk plug-ins for
checking chromatic ranges.

I have become a big fan of the ABC notation which goes beyond
the simple ASCII dump of the 'events'.
