1960s Duo-Art Console Rips Rolls
By Dan Armstrong

Jim, The problem with your Duo-Art console piano is the 'off'
switch sensor that rides on the take-up spool. If your roll has any
imperfections, the sensor will tear it as it comes to the end, whether
you are using the foot pump or the electric pump.

A quick, easy fix is to cover the end of the metal finger with masking
tape. Then, unless there is an existing hole or tear, it won't destroy
the roll.
