Perhaps you can help me obtain information about Charles Kohler of
Kohler Piano and Kohler & Campbell Piano Co.

Mr. Kohler resided in the Township of Mahwah, New Jersey, in the early
1900's and built a beautiful home, with concert room, that has become
a recognized site along our Ramapo Valley Road.  The home, which is
currently on the market, has the potential of becoming part of the
"bash and build" trend that victimizes so many historic structures.

Our Historic Preservation Commission is trying to convince our Township
Council to protect the structure from demolition by designating it as
an historic site on the Township Zoning Ordinance.  Any information
about the contributions Charles Kohler made to the piano industry would
certainly help bolster our position that the home is worthy of
designation.  We appreciate your consideration of our request.
